jean jacket

Thank goodness it's Friday! I was so tired today that I threw this outfit together as fast as I could and it turned out that I liked it! My main point about this post is to express how useful and practical a jean jacket is; I love it! Apparently, I am not the only one who loves my jean jacket. Today, I was going to meet my boyfriend for lunch like we usually do at school and when I spotted him from across the cafeteria, I realized we had committed a fashion "don't": we were both wearing jean jackets! Needless to say, jean jackets are perfect for both women and men to complete an outfit. My advice is to invest in one! Happy weekend!

smorgasbord of textures

Today was an ordinary day, but not an ordinary fashion day! Clearly, I was wishing it was summer today due to the white pants and summer tank top. It is quite alright to wear summery things in the Spring if you mix them with other non-summer pieces (like the leather jacket and pashima scarf). I love the smorgasbord of textures I combined, the graphic print of the tank, the sheerness of the sweater, the leather, and suede in the shoes. Bright capri pants are very in for Spring, but if you don't want to spend the extra money, you can simply roll up a pair of pants to create the look. Happy Thursday!

a little flare

It's always nice to mix it up. Typically, I wear skinny pants, since I am so short I need to add length somehow. But even for someone as short as I am, it is still possible to wear flared jeans. Just look for a pair that is a slim flare, not so much of a bell-bottom. I wore one of my favorite comfy sweaters with a striped shirt (my fave!) peaking out from underneath for contrast. I tied a scarf around my head for a headband, too for a casual, but chic school-day look!

lace + color blocking

Today really felt like spring, so I decided it was time to break out my favorite spring skirt for the first time this year. Lace is very in for spring as well as color blocking, so I mixed both of these trends together for a Sunday brunch look. Have a good week!

graphic art

Today,  it was finally sunny and I was dying to wear a skirt. So I paired my favorite graphic skirt with a bright blue top (perfect for spring), tights and booties for an urban chic look. I like statement pieces like this skirt, which are works of art on their own, because it is a way of expressing myself. Happy Friday!

wednesday blues

It's hard getting going on hump day. So, today I wanted to look nice without trying too hard. I paired leggings (my go-to for comfort) with a long sweater. To make this combination more interesting, I mixed the texture of the sheer shirt with the blue leather belt and boots. Then, I coordinated my belt with my feather earrings! Happy hump day!

sweater dress

Today was the first time in two days that I went outside the house. I've been sick in bed for the past two days, so the most fashionable I had been was matching socks...this outfit was a significant upgrade! I love this sweater dress, because it is so versatile! You can dress it up (like this) or dress it down with leggings and either way, you will be comfy and look cute! The leopard sweater adds some contrast to the relatively similar colors of the necklace and dress. Some heeled boots give me just the right amount of height that says, "these boots are made for walking.'"

bubblegum

Today, even though it was rainy outside (hence the indoor pictures, sorry!), I decided to go out anyways wearing my new bubblegum-pink shirt! I just love the color of this sheer shirt, because it makes me feel like Barbie! Sheer tops are very in this season and they are so versatile. You can wear them with jeans, leggings, skirts, or tucked into shorts! Since the color of the shirt is very girly, I made the rest of the outfit sort of retro to balance it out. Lastly, I added a bright, cross-body purse to pull the look together!

As promised, here is my makeup look of the week. Purple is the color I was inspired by. This is the kind of makeup I would wear for a day to evening look, because it is not too heavy for day and not too light for night! My new, lilac colored lipstick was the perfect final touch for a very spring-y look!

balancing act

Unlike most days, I whipped this outfit together in about three minutes. Usually it takes me twenty to twenty-five minutes along with at least three complete outfit changes! I guess my creativity was flowing today? The shoes are new, so I started with the shoes and built the outfit from there, as I very often do. Instead of jeans, I swapped them for green pants! Since the top part my my outfit is more flowy and bulky, I wore skinny pants to balance out my proportions. The topknot I did with my hair also balances out all the material in the middle!

lunch/brunch

On Friday, I went to lunch and shopping with my Mom. Since it was going to be a day out on the town, I wore my new high-waisted shorts with bright colors for a perfect spring look! It was still a bit chilly so I added my favorite dot tights for contrast. Since it was my first time trying the shorts, I kept the top part of my outfit simple, and I ended up really liking it! I added a bunch of necklaces for a change instead of big earrings!

On Sunday, I went to a brunch for the donors of my ballet school. I wore my new patterned skirt for the first time! The color green of my top is very in this spring and I added a blue belt in the same color family for an extra pop of color. Fishnets and neutral heels completed the look, making the skirt the key part of the outfit! Then later in the day, I went to a friends wine tasting, Eristavi Wines. Happy Monday!

little black dress+red lipstick

This week has been so busy for me, hence why I haven't been able to post as much. I will have many more looks next week, though! Wednesday night I went to see San Francisco Ballet's Romeo and Juliet. The dress I'm wearing is actually from my freshmen year winter formal, that I shortened recently and spiced up with red accessories (God bless Betsey Johnson shoes)! The dot tights add a little funk to a very classic combo of a little black dress and red lipstick!

New! Starting next week, once a week I will post a makeup look for a specific type of occasion! This look is what I call the "bronze smoky eye." Instead of using dark browns, blacks, or grays, I used light tan colors, and bronzes for a softer look. Then, I added red lipstick!

tickled pink

Someone told me today that the color of my (new) tank top looked like the Crayola crayon color "tickled pink." I guess that was their version of a compliment? Anyways, even though it was quite gray and chilly outside, I couldn't help myself from mixing in some bright colors with my otherwise boring black outfit. Oh and I just adore my new headband! It was my key accessory for the day, as any outfit should have!
